Mt St Marys College Namagunga wins 4th annual girls lacrosse championship.

Mt St Marys College Namagunga wins the Uganda Lacrosse 4th annual girls lacrosse championship 19-03-2016.
Eventual winners Mt St Mary's College Namagunga faced the same opponents in the 4th consecutive final and just like 2015 7-0 deficit to Nabisunsa girls sec school,2016 came with a 9-2 victory.

A total of seven schools competed YMCA Wandegeya,Canan HS,Gayaza HS(host),Green Hill Academy and Mumias Select team from Kenya completing the list. 

Final game was highly contested.

Uganda Lacrosse 4th Annual Girls championship 19/03/2016.

Uganda Lacrosse 4th Annual Girls championship for Saturday 19/03/2016.

In a bid to continue with a pledge to start and grow women lacrosse programs in Uganda,the 4th edition of the schools competition is on this weekend to be hosted at Gayaza High School a prominent girls school in the central district of Wakiso.
FCA Lacrosse,Rwenzori water,Kelly Foundation and Pepsi Uganda supporting the event.


This years competition is regional with a number of Kenyan school teams taking part in the one day tournament. The major aim of this competition for Kenya is to continue exposing players to extreme competition and talent for their 2019 U-19 national team that will debut in the world championships.

Uganda however is preparing to put a women's team into a world championship in 2017 to be hosted in Guildford England in the United Kingdom. A number of over 10 schools from the region already confirmed participation.
Schools have been preparing since last year for this coming event.
Events like these prepared for girls and women are another known tool in empowering them a practice that hasn't been clearly handled world over,and supporting and more women projects assists the world to shift towards equal chances and opportunity for women.

Nabisunsa Girls Sec School preps for the 4th Annual Girls Lacrosse championship.

Lacrosse has undoubtedly found a comfortable home from which it will spread through out Africa with a major influence in Uganda. The Uganda Lacrosse Association is currently finalizing preparations of yet another girls lacrosse tournament where top girls schools in Uganda will be competiting.

Nabisunsa Girls secondary school has participated in all the previous tournament emerging secon from which motivation to win the 2016 schedule is drawn. St Mary's Namagangu has won all the previous trophies with ease where 2015 the hot contested ended with a 7-0 defeat of Nabisunsa.
